The Great Ouija Board Mystery
The great Ouija board mystery has plagued the paranormal world for centuries maybe even millennia. As long as mankind has been interested in the unknown phenomena there have been true scientists and those that tell people what they want to hear and put on a show for them. As time progressed so did our techniques and knowledge leaving dangerous items like the Ouija board behind, or did we?
The technique of using this device is considered a form of paranormal channeling, Ouija (Pronounced wee-gee) is being spun as a valid form of paranormal communication. However as science and paranormal investigations evolved we found that objects like these tend to be highly open to skepticism and easily debunked as human influence. the use of such a device as a paranormal channeling device is very dangerous, as paranormal investigators we seek to prove or debunk the existing spirits in the client’s life not summon more to them.
Ouija Boards in Modern Paranormal Investigations
Essentially the Ouija technique has been rejected by the most highly reputable investigators, dismissed as simply non-scientific and easily refutable. Still however some still use it, so for the sake of education I will mention the technique and how it’s used. Similar to the popular “Table Tipping” technique Ouija boards use human involuntary actions and movements to “communication” with the dead in the following way:
A board with all twenty six letters and the words “Yes” and “No” on it is placed on a smooth level surface usually a floor
A lens or overturned glass is placed on the board with all the participants placing their fingertips on the afore mentioned lens/glass
Spirits are then summoned, usually with a chant or charm
Like EVP sessions participants ask questions to the summoned spirits which “influence” the lens to either spell out a word or answer simply yes or no
Spirits do not necessarily need to be summoned however such a device was designed for channeling/ scrying. It is highly skepticized that the movements are solely involuntary actions of the participants and not necessarily the movement of an influencing spirit. It is for this reason that the most credible researchers and investigators forego this method.
Paranormal Channeling?
Paranormal channeling is where an investigator or spiritualist (Psychic/ Medium) tries to summon a specific spirit to their location. This practice is extremely dangerous as almost one hundred percent of the time you summon a malicious spirit usually a “doppelganger”. This practice is not paranormal investigation and only causes more trouble than it solves.
Ouija boards are another channeling or scrying device used to summon spirits. A paranormal investigator is “Hired” (A term used loosely as any credible or reputable group works for free) to help with allegedly existing spirits not to summon forth spirits into someone’s house. Said spirits are not bound to that location and can be very dangerous and deceptive, bringing to mention doppelgangers and malicious spirits.
Ouija Boards and Table Tipping
Table tipping as I will delve deeper into in a later page is very similar in practice. Ouija and table tipping have almost the same purpose in paranormal communication. These practices are shunned and should be removed from all investigative practices, remember if you can explain it so could skeptics and Ouija is one of those techniques that never passes their scrutiny.
Fact or Fiction?
Ouija boards in my opinion and in the opinion of the majority of the paranormal community are completely fiction and has no place in the arsenal of a true paranormal investigator. In the end however I leave it to your own decision as to what to think about Ouija. Scientia Potentia Est (for also knowledge itself is power) how you use it is wisdom.
